Rod Morrison is Executive Director of Esmond Management Consulting Pty Ltd. His areas of professional expertise include change and transition management, quality improvement, performance management, negotiation, influencing and leadership development.

Prior to commencing human resources consulting in 1998, Rod held management positions within the APS including as Director of Human Resource Development (Public Employment Placement Enterprise) and Director of Management Development (Department of Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs). Rod had also worked on a two-year World Bank project in Kyrgyzstan, focused on labour market reform and regional development.

A great deal of Rod's experience has been developed through working with people to develop strategic and business plans, particularly in the context of organisational change. Rod has worked closely with senior and middle managers in specifying requirements, developing approaches and implementing practical solutions that align to organisational aims. He has facilitated small, medium and large groups (both in Australia and abroad) through organisational change seminars and workshops.

Between 1998 and 2003 Rod consulted to General Motors, facilitating change management seminars and negotiation workshops for managers in Australia, India, China (PRC) and Indonesia. During this period, Rod also facilitated programs for numerous APS Agencies, on topics including leadership development, performance management and appraisal, project management, team development and positioning & planning. He also worked with Romania's Council of Occupational Standards and Assessment (through the World Bank), to help move the organisation from a heavy dependence on donor-funding to a fully self-funded model.

Between 2006 – 2007 Rod facilitated the APSC's SES Band 1 leadership programmes, "New Leadership Horizons" and "Transforming Leadership". He continues to work with numerous APS agencies in a consulting capacity. Commercial sector interests include consulting to BMW Australia as a quality coach and quality auditor. Rod is the HR advisor to the Mongolia Australian Scholarship Program. This involves working with Government Ministries in Mongolia, focusing on governance and strengthening human resource management.

Rod is accredited to administer the Team Management Profile, DiSC systems, Types of Work Index, Star Performing Teams, Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument and is an accredited DaCUM facilitator. He holds membership with the Australian Institute of Management and the Australian Institute of Training and Development.
