Dianne van Meegen is a Principal of Directions for Change, a Canberra-based business which provides highly specialised consulting services in the areas of organisational and leadership development, facilitation services across the full range of organisational issues and executive coaching for individuals, executive groups and boards.

Over the past 15 years she has worked in Australia and overseas for a wide range of public and private sector agencies, NGOs and lobby groups. Her work in organisational development ranges across structural change, leadership and management development, executive team and board capability building, organisational repositioning, developing stakeholder engagement strategies and facilitation of a wide range of forums.

Some typical projects include:

• working with CEO's and executive level groups to advise on a range of sensitive and complex organisational and change issues and workforce capability building, facilitation of forums involving cross government and cross jurisdictional consultations, a wide range of stakeholders with diverse interests and in situations where there are strongly conflicting views, political sensitivities and complexity;
• working as a mentor/coach and change facilitator/partner with CEO's, executive groups and change teams in the public, private and not for profit sectors;
• Convenor of Studies, Design Advisor and facilitator for leadership, cultural change programs, including for the APS Commission's Senior Executive Programs, and
• development of stakeholder engagement strategies.

Dianne's earlier work history included working as a senior consultant on organisational development assignments with a Canberra-based management consulting company. Her early career was with the former Commonwealth Public Service Board in a range of areas including organisational and people strategy and development, and employment and recruitment policy and practice. She has a detailed knowledge of the operations of the APS and a sound understanding of cross agency issues. Dianne has presented on various of CPM's courses over the past ten years.

Dianne has a tertiary qualification in Administration and Politics, is a member of the Australian Institute of Management, the Institute of Management Consultants and member and former councillor of the Institute of Public Administration. Dianne was a finalist in the ACT Division of the 1999 Telstra Business Women's Awards which recognises achievements of women who have developed and maintained a successful business.

Her pro bono contributions include being Co-founder of the Canberra Chapter of UNIFEM (the United Nations Development Fund for Women), supporting the Board's and/or staff of The White Ribbon Foundation (for the elimination of violence against women), the Red Cross, the Greater Good (Canberra's public charitable foundation) and supporting young men and women in their career choices.
