Alison Byrne

Alison Byrne has over twenty six years public sector experience working in both HR and operational roles across a range of Australian Public Service agencies. These include the Australian Customs Service (ACS), the then Department of Employment and Youth Affairs and Centrelink. From 2001 to 2009 Alison worked as a Regional Adviser with the Australian Public Service Commission.

In the Australian Public Service Commission Alison worked as a Melbourne-based Regional Adviser undertaking a range of statutory and HR consultancy functions including:

• the investigation and review of decisions made by APS agencies relating to findings of breaches of the APS Code of Conduct;
• grievance review and investigation of other employment related matters;
• promotion reviews;
• management and conduct of recruitment and selection exercises for agencies;
• review and development of agency HR policies and procedures;
• business process mapping and re-design and,
• development ,design and delivery of national HR training programs for agencies in a range of areas including the management and conduct of administrative investigations, merit selection and the APS Values and Code of Conduct for staff and managers.

Alison joined CPM Reviews as a Senior Reviewer in 2009. In this role she undertakes a range of consultancy services for public sector agencies including the review of employment actions and decisions and the investigation of complaints and cases of suspected misconduct. She has undertaken reviews both within Australia and also overseas.

Alison's relevant qualifications include an Advanced Diploma in Government (HR) and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Alison is also trained in mediation (LEADR accredited).
