Executive Coaching Courses

The IEC and CPM partnership has developed a range of products specifically designed for the Public Sector market and is aimed at supporting participants through the APS Leadership Journey.

Developing a coaching approach within the workplace has the capacity to unlock untapped potential across all staff levels. Building internal coaching capabilities is increasingly recognised as one of the most effective ways to create dynamic organisations able to adapt to challenges and opportunities in a complex global environment. Recent Australian research has shown coaching to improve individual resilience, goal attainment, workplace and subjective wellbeing, performance, communication and relationships. All of these then influence engagement and retention rates.

Coaching Skills for Leaders

Coaching Skills for Leaders is a one or two day program that is designed for Executive Level and Senior Executive Staff. This program is designed to introduce the concept of coaching and mentoring skills with the aim of improving management and leadership across the public service. This program can be tailored for staff at the EL1, EL2 and Senior Executive levels, with programs also suitable for a combination of levels. The program can be delivered on client premises or at the CPM Training Centre.

Senior Executive Coaching Forum

Executive engagement is seen as a key contributor to the success of any development program. The Senior Executive Coaching Forum aims to provide the SES with an understanding of coaching skills and the benefits of building a coaching culture, how it fits with leadership development and the responsibility they have as part of their SES roles. These forums can be provided in a half day or full day format. This Forum is very useful for providing senior executives with the key concepts to support staff at lower levels who have completed the Coaching Skills for Leaders program. It ensures that staff at all levels develop a common language and approach, while recognising the time constraints and pressures senior executives experience.

Team or Group Coaching

Team and group coaching is becoming increasingly popular as a cost effective way of coaching across any level. Team or Group coaching delivers value in working with existing teams to address particular issues, or across established working groups to foster communication and collaborative effort across the organisation. This approach has been successfully used with Senior Executive groups to foster a team approach at the highest levels, resulting in significant benefits across the organisation.

Executive Coaching

Finally, we can also offer an Executive Coaching service to work with individuals at any level to improve management and leadership capability.

The Institute of Executive Coaching (IEC) and The Centre for Public Management (CPM) have established a strategic partnership between the two organisations to provide executive coaching services to the public sector market.

This partnership combines and capitalises on the strength and credibility CPM has in the Canberra public sector market, with the IEC's significant authority and expertise in the coaching arena. This has the potential to provide superior public sector focused coaching services to our clients.
