Courses Overview

CPM currently runs thirteen management and leadership development courses, each a public program that is open to participants from all government departments and agencies. Our courses are focused on improving individual performance through a combination of factors including self-awareness, people management and strategic thinking.

  Residential Leadership Courses

  CPM currently delivers six residential leadership courses for APS employees

  We deliver six residential leadership courses, which are run on a regular basis and are open to participants from government departments and agencies. These focus on improving performance at the APS and Executive Levels. Courses are three or four days in duration and are delivered at Bowral or Bungendore.

  Specialist Courses

  CPM currently delivers six specialist courses for APS employees

  We deliver six specialist courses that cover specific areas of personal development or interest, such as faciliation, influencing skills and change management. These courses are run over two days either in Canberra or at Bowral in a residential format.

  Coaching Courses

  Courses to improve people management through the use of coaching and mentoring skills

  Delivered in partnership with the Institute for Executive Coaching (IEC), a number of coaching and mentoring workshops are available, including three levels of executive coach training leading to accreditation recognised by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

  The CPM catalogue provides an overview of all CPM courses

  This downloadable twelve page document (PDF) details the full range of courses offered by CPM, along with information about CPM presenters and a number of other business lines within the organisation. This document is regularly distributed across the APS, hard copies can be obtained by contacting CPM.

In addition, all of the above leadership courses (or derivatives of them) can be delivered as 'in-house' programs. In such situations they can be tailored to meet specific departmental or agency requirements. Additional information about departmental leadership programs is also available here.

Integrated Leadership System (ILS)

All of CPM's public leadership courses are mapped against the Integrated Leadership System (ILS), as produced by the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC). Course Evaluations

CPM conducts and publishes evaluations of our public leadership courses, as a demonstration of the quality and effectiveness of the courses we deliver.
