About CPM
Centre for Public Management
The Centre for Public Management (CPM) is a Canberra-based company that specialises in the development and delivery of residential management and leadership programs for the public sector. We aim to build management and leadership capability in the Australian Public Sector, via a team of thirteen consultants and ten office staff.
CPM does not provide services to the private sector or commercial organisations. However, course attendance from non-government organisations (NGOs) and not for profit organisations (NPOs) can be catered for. Please contact Shelly Hall at CPM if you are interested in attending a CPM program and fall into this category.
Our Office
CPM’s office is located next to the Jamison Centre in the ACT, where its office staff take course bookings, liaise with participants about course arrangements and handle the preparation of course materials and associated activities. It also coordinates the administration of 360° feedback instruments for users.

Our current office was opened by Professor Peter Shergold in May 2008, at a function attended by a number of CPM associates and business partners. A four-page liftout to celebrate the opening was included in the Canberra Times 'Public Sector Informant' of 6 June 2008. The liftout can be viewed here as a PDF. |
Our Social Responsibility
CPM directs one percent of all course fees to support a range of causes. These have included Aboriginal leadership
development; independent research into aspects of public sector leadership; support for the Institute of Public
Administration Australia (IPAA); support for the YMCA; and support for non-government organisations which promote
public awareness of mankind’s role in contributing to global warming.
CPM administrative activities use environmentally friendly products where available, including the use of green
energy, printing on recycled or plantation timber paper and a range of other similar measures.
